Festival of Trees

During the Festival of Trees, local organizations are asked to decorate a holiday tree to represent themselves in the community. Visitors can then vote for their favorite tree by placing this year's donation items under the tree of their choice. You may also purchase a ballot at the front counter to cast votes with. The tree with the most items and ballots by December 31 will be the winner.Are you interested in supporting your favorite local organization and charity at the same time? These charities have asked for the following donations, if you would like to support one or both causes.

Annual Rockbridge Community Festival

Annual Apple Butter Festival

Celebrate fall at the 30th Annual Apple Butter Festival at Wade's Mill (c.1750), Virginia's oldest, continuously operating commercial grist mill.Glenn Wilson will be making his famous apple butter the old-fashioned way, slow simmered in a 130+ year old copper pot over an open fire. Take a turn stirring with the long-handled paddle and take home a fresh jar.Enjoy demonstrations and find unique, handcrafted work and gifts by over 40 artisans and crafts people. Delicious local food and drink and music all day.Arrive early, bring a blanket or lawn chair for the music and stay all day so you don't miss out! There will be live music, demonstrations, plenty of locally-crafted beverages, and excellent food! Annual McCormick Farm Mill Day

The Virginia Tech Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center, McCormick Farm, will host the 20th Annual McCormick Farm Mill Day on:Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00am – 2:00pmThis year marks the 195th anniversary of the invention of the McCormick Reaper. This invention started the mechanical revolution in agriculture and forever changed production agriculture around the world.The main attraction of Mill Day will be the operation of the McCormick grist mill. Built in the late 1700's, the mill has been fully restored to working order. Mr. Glenn Wilson of Raphine will be on hand to operate the mill and answer questions about historical milling and the mechanical operation of the mill.Enjoy live music and Raphine Volunteer Fire Company's legendary BBQ chicken. Hikers can enjoy the Marl Creek Interpretive Trail and its fall scenery, including a meadow with native plants for pollinators. There will be educational activities for school-age children.This event is free of charge and open to the public. The Shenandoah Valley AREC's commitment to a strong tradition of agricultural innovation will be on display. Attendees will enjoy a hayride through the research farm, witnessing modern day innovation in beef cattle production practices.The Virginia Tech Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center, McCormick Farm is located between Steeles Tavern and Raphine on Raphine Road. From Interstate 81, take exit 205 and go east on Raphine Road towards Steeles Tavern. McCormick Farm is located on the north side of Raphine Road at 128 McCormick Farm Circle.

- Piloted balloon flights are taking place at 6 am and 6 pm Friday, and 6 am and 6 pm on Saturday – reservations are required and flights are $325 per person. Contact dee@balloonsoverrockbridge.com to book your flight.
- Tethered flights will be available Friday and Saturday 4-7 pm. Rides are first come first served and cost $20 for Adults and $15 for children under 10.
- Spectacular Ed McDaniel Memorial Balloon Glow at 9 pm

Rockbridge Beer & Wine Festival

The Downtown Lexington Christmas Parade returns on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. To enter your float or organization, please visit the MSL website at mainstreetlexington.org/christmas-parade and complete the Google Form, download a copy from the website to drop off or mail, or pick up a hard copy at the MSL or Chamber of Commerce offices. The parade will take place rain or shine, and it will only be canceled in case of very inclement weather. - Folk Song & Flat Foot (each)– 1st: $50; 2nd: $40; 3rd: $30
- Ribbons will be awarded to top three youth competitors in each instrumental category and in folk song and flatfoot dance.
- All youth competitors will receive one free event T-shirt
